Description
Responsible for advanced technical mastery in the process, mechanical, operational, and power and control areas of the business. Provides training to other areas of the plant on Power, Control and Information Systems. Follows the governance policies in the area of information and cybersecurity. Leads or owns the GIA audits.
May also lead a PC&IS Department. Responsible for PC&IS i.e. providing PC&IS knowledge and leadership to an operating module. Owns PC&IS technologies and PC&IS team within their module.
Responsibilities
Project management:
- Use project development techniques – from the initial idea conception stage to the final commissioning and validation stage.
- Execute projects integrating mechatronic systems
- Execute researches into technological solutions and patents for mechatronic projects
- Implement the mechatronics project according to the scope
- Prepare technical documentation and presentation of the mechatronic project, in accordance with current procedures and standards
- Present mechatronic projects
Automation:
- Select automation solutions for implementation in mechatronic systems
- Program automation solutions to execute tasks according to process needs
- Integrate automation solutions with discrete devices and logistics management systems for process automation
Control:
- Analyze signals in time and frequency for signal processing
- Integrate closed-loop devices to optimize output signals
- Specify sensing systems for closed-loop process control
- Dimension the type of control according to the mechatronic system
- Parameterize closed-loop and PID controllers
Electrical:
- Review electrical and electronic diagrams/systems
- Dimension loads of low-power electrical distribution panels
- Use instrumentation to diagnose electrical problems
- Identify causes of defects and failures in machines and equipment
- Identify improvements in the maintenance process
- Identify opportunities to reduce time and material waste
- Analyze risks related to work safety
- Analyze risks related to the environment

Qualifications
- Engineering or technology course in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronics
- NR-10 certification – electrical installations and services
- Previous experience in AB-Rockwell Hardware and Software (RSLogix, PLC)
- Solid experience in project execution, operation and/or maintenance of industrial equipment
- Previous experience in logistics and/or manufacturing processes
- Reading, interpretation and creation abilities for electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic diagrams/systems
- MS Office Suite – Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, Outlook
- Leadership, collaboration, innovation, commitment/discipline, teamwork, training
Preferred skills
- Vision and instrumentation systems knowledge (e.g. SICK, Cognex, Keyence)
- Network and information systems (IT) architecture
- TBM concepts such as autonomous and progressive maintenance, Kaizens
- Programming knowledge with Python, SQL, JavaScript, ABAP languages
- Industry 4.0 Technologies such as Cyber Security, IoT, Advanced Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Systems Integration and Digitalization
- NR12 knowledge – Machine Safety
- English – fluent or advanced
