Procter & Gamble (P&G) is one of the world’s leading companies in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) making globally admired brands such as Gillette, Pampers, Fairy and Oral-B. We are looking for someone experienced in manufacturing & construction projects and Health and Safety who will support the safety program for West Thurrock Manufacturing Site. The role is a non-management position, and you will report to the Industrial Hygiene and Safety Leader and be accountable to the Site Health & Safety Program Leader.
Responsibilities
Safety Ownership: Overall, you will drive the safety culture and standards on site, engaging with Project Managers & Engineers and Construction contractors, acting as a Safety role model within the team.
Change Management: You will form part of the change management board for the site and support specifically changes coming from Engineering projects across the whole site. You will attend design reviews for projects and ensure that both the P&G Health & Safety current best approach and local legal requirements are adhered. You will define actions for project implementation. You will act as a coach and consultant for the Engineering projects team from Health and Safety point of view.
Train and Communicate on Safety: You will assist the Industrial Hygiene and Safety Leader to train and qualify new starters in basic safety requirements and take part in the Engineering department safety induction process.
Behaviour & Safety Monitoring: You will spend time in the operational area and project areas providing supervision of contractors, to ensure that P&G Construction current best approach guidance is followed, ensuring permit to work control measures are adhered to and to provide direct feedback to contractors and permit writers.
Risk Assessing: you will assist in reviewing and approving risk assessment and method statements for engineering and construction work on site, ensuring that foreseeable risks have been considered and control measures identified. This could include tasks involving Work at Height, Hot works, Confined Space Entry.
Please note this is a day-based, rather than a shift-based role, you'll generally work 40 hours per week.

Qualifications
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is required.
NEBOSHHealth and Safety Management for Construction is preferable.
Experience in Manufacturing Process and Packing Operations preferred.
Very good relationship-building skills.
A proven record of delivering outstanding safety improvements and exceeding targets set.
A clear understanding of project management and execution.
Competent in full Microsoft package with analytical skills, assessing large amounts of data to visual trends and can use Power BI functions.
